The players, major test contributors
Matt Barker / Brandon Hedges (Barker & Hedges)
The first of hopefuly many to step up to the plate and put their traffic at risk. Their website is BarkerHedges.com and they are documenting their results at their blog under their real estate technology category.
Milan Cole (JMA Properties, LLC)
Milan is the technology manager for JMA Properties, LLC, and author of a top-ranked website in Portland, Oregon. He ran the site with unforced registration for the past couple years and then began testing forced registration to conincede with a relaunched Limited Edition Custom site. The initial test results were so positive that a second round of testing has been designed around further improving the conversion rate of visitors to registered visitors. This new test will involve different variations of the registration page and whether it is beneficial to allow users to preview a couple pages of detailed listing information before forcing registration. You can look forward to the test results being posted on forcedregistration.com in the coming months.
Greg Smith (Boulder Home Source)
Greg is a long time Real Estate Webmasters website user and ranks highly for "boulder real estate" and related terms. For the past several months Greg has been running his LEC 2 with "NO" registration - and we have accumulated quite a bit of data from that campaign - Greg is going to be transferring to a special new kind of thickbox registration (you can see the data behind the registration form, but can't access it without signing up) and we look forward to him posting his results on his blog which you can find at BoulderHomeSource.com or here at ForcedRegistration.com.
